Here are some local options for holiday revelers: Yelm The City of Yelm, along with the 133rd Army National Guard Band, will host the first annual “Brass on the Grass” event at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 6, at Yelm City Park. The concert will be performed on Yelm’s Centennial Stage. The 133rd Washington Army National Guard will bring two sections of its band, including The General’s 7, a traditional jazz band, and Brassquatch, a brass band. Roy The Lacamas Community Center will host Roy’s annual Fourth of July parade at noon on Friday, July 4, near the Roy Rodeo grounds. All parade participants are asked to meet at the Roy Rodeo grounds before 11:30 a.m., with the parade itself set to begin at noon. The parade route will cruise down Warren Street to First Street. A picnic will be held after the conclusion of the parade. Activities are expected to wrap up around 2 p.m. Eatonville The Eatonville Business Association will host a July 3 fireworks celebration in the field behind Eatonville Elementary and Eatonville Middle School, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Various food trucks will be present at the event, along with activities such as bounce houses, live entertainment and other vendors. Fireworks will begin at dark. The Eatonville Business Association will host a Fourth of July parade, beginning at noon, and will trek down Center Street and Mashell Avenue. The parade, according to event organizers, intends to celebrate America and the hometown pride of Eatonville. Parade onlookers are asked to bring their families to the parade and find their favorite spot along the route to enjoy the numerous floats, classic cars and participants involved in the event. Tumwater Tumwater will host a day of fun on Friday, July 4, beginning at 11 a.m. with the City of Tumwater’s Independence Day celebration parade. This year, the parade’s theme is “Great Outdoors 4th.” The parade will start at the corner of Capitol Boulevard and Lee Street, and move south on Capitol Boulevard to Israel Road. Then, the parade will turn west onto Israel Road and continue past City Hall, ending up at the Linderson Way and Israel Road intersection. Following the conclusion of Tumwater’s parade, the Tumwater Family Festival and Nisqually Red Wind Casino Fireworks Show will occur in the evening hours. Located at the Tumwater Valley Golf Club, 4611 Tumwater Valley Drive SE, the free event invites the community out for an evening of live music, entertainment, food, games and more. Gates will open at 6 p.m., and a fireworks show is set to occur at 10:15 p.m. Event parking is $10 per car, and will benefit the 2026 firework show, along with Thurston County Special Olympics. Joint Base Lewis-McChord Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) will be home to a “4th of July Pawty for Boarding Dogs” beginning at 9 a.m. at the Pet Brigade, Building 04907, Pendleton Ave., Fort Lewis. Admission is $10, and people with their dogs will have the opportunity to take some “fun pictures” while they enjoy hot dogs and other frozen treats. Lacey The annual Lacey Fireworks Spectacular is set for Thursday, July 3, and features live entertainment, rides, face painting and, of course, a night of fireworks. The free festival is set for 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. and is located at Rainier Vista Community Park. The fireworks begin at 10 p.m.
